LANAO DEL NORTE TO BOOST RICE STOCKS FROM NFA
To ensure that the people of the province will have enough supply of rice amidst the COVID-19 crisis which put the entire world in uncertainties Governor Imelda Q. Dimaporo made an advance move of securing enough rice stocks from the (NFA) National Food Authority.
Gov. Angging requested for a meeting with the NFA to get the assurance from the agency that Lanao del Norte could buy the needed volume of rice to sustain the food consumptions in feeding the nearly Four Hundred Thousand people in the province just in case there is a need for the government to extend the Enhanced Community Quarantine status.
The Governor's meeting with the NFA which was attended by the agency's provincial manager Samuel Natavio was headed by the Provincial Agriculturist of Lanao del Norte Letecia Ditucalan.
Prior to the Governor's move to purchase NFA rice, the Lanao del Norte Rice Traders and Millers have already committed to the lady Governor of selling enough commercial rice at P950/bag containing 25kilos, in a separate meeting she called for the other day.// By: Elena S. Pelare
